thekidneytrust
The Kidney TRUST is a national nonprofit organization on a mission to reduce the human and economic cost of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

31 million adult Americans have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and 90% don’t know it. People with kidney disease are at higher risk for high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, even an early death.

CKD even causes anemia, bone disease and malnutrition, and can eventually lead to kidney failure. People at increased risk for CKD include those with diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and a family history of kidney disease, as well as people over the age of 60. Certain ethnic groups such as African-Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans are also at increased risk.

The Kidney TRUST will be providing free screening for chronic kidney disease (CKD) at the expo.

Fit to the Finish, written by Diane Carbonell, is a blog about weight loss and weight maintenance. Diane blogs three or four times a week about her 150 pound weight loss, the realities of losing weight, the emotional challenges of dieting, and offers encouragement in the form of inspiring stories and healthy recipes.
